Weber Shandwick Sport will work with British Champions Series and its 10 leading racecourses to provide communications support to launch and promote the series.

British Champions Series chief executive Karl Oliver said: ‘They demonstrated not only a track record of launching new sports properties and changing consumer behaviour, but also an energy, passion and determination to work with us on this major new sporting series.’

Head of Weber Shandwick Sport Fiona McLachlan said: ‘Once people experience the series they will begin to understand and get excited by racing, perhaps for the first time. We're very proud to have been appointed amid strong competition.’

The series begins with the 2,000 Guineas at Newmarket on 30 April and climaxes at British Champions Day at Ascot on 15 October.

With a total prize money pot of more than £13 million, British Champions Series features 35 premier flat races which will run in five categories.
