PUBLIC SECTOR: Development charity creates new PR role

The World Development Movement, a charity which campaigns against global poverty and is a founder member of the Jubilee 2000 campaign to write off Third World debt, is to bolster its campaigning activity with the appointment of a head of campaigns communications. The new role was created after the old head of campaigns role was split into two posts focused on policy and communications respectively. Former head of campaigns Jessica Woodruff will now focus on lobbying and policy research, while the new incumbent will oversee a team of five, dedicated to raising the public profile of the charity’s campaigns. Both roles will report to charity director Barry Coates.
