Attic Futura has poached Jennifer Stringer from the BBC’s Live ’n’

Kicking magazine to edit its top-selling teenage girls’ title, Sugar,

and has promoted Sugar’s deputy editor to oversee an on-line launch.

Stringer is currently deputy editor at Live’n’Kicking, a monthly

spin-off from the BBC1 children’s television show of the same name.

She spent two years at Live’n’Kicking and was previously a writer for

the BBC’s Top of the Pops magazine.

Sugar’s previous editor, Sarah Pyper, left in August 1999 to pursue a

freelance career. Attic Futura’s youth titles editorial director,

Lysanne Sampson, stepped in as acting editor until a replacement could

be found.

Sugar deputy editor Lauren Jarvis has been promoted to on-line editor

and will launch a new media project for Attic Futura later in the

year.

Deputy art editor Martin Ixer has also been promoted to art editor,

replacing Deborah Peters who has been made group art editor.
