MEDIA BRIEFS: Knowles becomes NME’s youngest editor

NME has appointed its youngest ever editor, 26- year-old Ben Knowles. He joins from sister title Melody Maker, where he was senior staff writer, and takes over from Steve Sutherland, who becomes brand director for the paper. Knowles joined Melody Maker 18 months ago after working on Smash Hits and the Mirror. Sutherland is working on brand extensions to the paper and its web site.
