Nme.com, one of the most popular music web-sites in Europe with

850,000 users per month, has appointed Beattie Media as its first PR

agency.

The work was awarded without a competitive pitch on the strength of

Beattie’s recent appointment of former Music Week managing editor Tracy

Snell as an account director within its new media division.

According to Snell, the agency’s brief will be to further build

nme.com’s profile in both on-line and off-line media to a consumer and

business audience and to increase traffic to the site.

’NME is a strong on-line brand to work with, the paper version is well

established after 50 years,’ said Snell.

Beattie will report to IPC media director Neil Robinson. Previously PR

for the web-site was carried out inhouse by the IPC press offfice.
