Hitachi appoints Warren to build brand in Europe

Hitachi Europe, the European subsidiary of Japanese electronics giant Hitachi Ltd, has appointed Chris Warren to the newly-created position as European corporate communications manager.

giant Hitachi Ltd, has appointed Chris Warren to the newly-created

position as European corporate communications manager.



His role is to develop a coherent brand strategy throughout Hitachi’s

ten European markets.



Warren reports to Masao Takebayashi, who is director of corporate

communications Europe. He takes responsibility for corporate PR and

advertising in Europe.



Takebayashi said: ’Warren’s appointment underpins our desire to develop

clear and consistent communications across Hitachi’s European markets,

and his considerable experience brings a unique understanding of each

market and their differences.’



Hitachi Europe uses Citigate Dewe Rogerson for corporate communications

and investor relations. The company is one of the world’s leading global

electronic companies with worldwide sales of over pounds 28 billion in

1998.



It manufactures a range of products from consumer electronics to

computer systems and semiconductors.
