1. Flack may have discovered the only media job that is truly recession proof - Private Eye cartoonists. Taylor Herring and GolinHarris have commissioned different doodlers from the satirical mag (Tony Husband and Robert Thompson respectively) to design Christmas cards to spread their collective festive cheer.

2. PRWeek is fast becoming a specialist magazine for penguin fanciers, after English penguins at the National History Museum and their Scottish cousins at Edinburgh Zoo had their moment in the, er, snow. Now here come the Welsh. Orchard PR is promoting Cardiff's Winter Wonderland. PR director Tim Powell explains: 'We keep our Welsh waddle warm in the national colours.'

3. Cliff Richard, Wizard and Slade have some competition this Christmas. Pelican PR and St Helen's Farm are giving people the chance to vote for their 'favourite' carol-singing goat. Greta, Gladys and Gertrude are shown 'singing' Silent Night, Hark the Herald and Come All Ye Faithful. At least it can't be worse than Mistletoe and Wine ...
