The body promoting tourism in Scotland is seeking an agency with a presence in Ireland to create a PR strategy and proposed activity plan to target the Irish consumer audience.

The appointment has an initial budget of up to £4,259 covering the period from 6 January to 31 March. An
annual budget of up to £21,293 per year may be available if VisitScotland opts to extend the contract.

VisitScoland consumer PR manager for UK and Ireland Ruma Cummins said: ‘The Irish market spent £66m visiting Scotland last year and is a key market for us.

‘We are looking to appoint an agency with a presence in the Republic of Ireland to support our media relations activity and ultimately assist with increasing visitor numbers, spend and overnight stays from the region to Scotland.

‘The appointed agency will provide insights into the Irish media landscape as well as new opportunities to promote Scotland in this region.’

The brief says VisitScotland is looking for an agency to tie in with its ‘Winter White’ marketing campaign, aimed at promoting the country as a winter destination.
