Punch Taverns has chosen Brunswick to handle its retained financial PR account, following a three-way pitch. Smithfield was the incumbent.

Brunswick has retained its position at the top of the Hemscott Corporate Advisers Rankings Guide for FTSE 100 firms and all listed clients by market cap. Brunswick increased its FTSE 100 total to 29, Finsbury remains in second place with 17 FTSE clients and FD is third with 11.

Equatorial Palm Oil, a UK-listed producer of palm oil products focusing on Liberia, has handed a brief to Pelham Bell Pottinger. The firm, which floated on AIM earlier this year, handed the agency a retained brief to build investor support and raise the firm's profile among the media and investor community. Pelham Bell Pottinger has also picked up a financial and corp comms brief with Zanaga Iron Ore Company.

HSBC Holdings has hired the London Stock Exchange's Patrick Humphris in the new role of senior manager, financial PR. He was previously head of media at the LSE.

Barclays Wealth has appointed Clare Milton and Louise Pancott as vice-president and assistant vice-president respectively in the comms team. Milton joins from MHP Communications, while Pancott joins from Deutsche Bank.
