Newell, who takes on the new role later this week, will oversee the strategic planning and consultancy for all clients while also focusing on the growth of the sports division at Lexis Public Relations.

She will take over the head of sport role from Will Oscroft who has moved to Falcon and Associates, a Lexis Sport client, as marketing director.

In her six years at Lexis Sport, Newell has led the global PR activation of Barclays’ sponsorship of the Premier League. More recently, she has been responsible for the pan-European communications campaign linked to Turismo Madrid’s bid to host the Ryder Cup in 2018.

Griffiths joined Lexis Public Relations over eight years ago as a graduate and was one of the founding members of the sports team. He led the PR at the Barclays New York Challenge and Barclays Asia Trophy.

Lexis Sport, a division of Lexis Public Relations, provides consultancy, content creation and international media relations for a range of clients including Barclays, Turismo Madrid, Royal Spanish Golf Federation, RFU, Special Olympics Great Britain, The Women’s Sport Fitness Foundation and Falcon and Associates.
