Racepoint Group associate director Ben Philipson (pictured) will join the tech shop in the newly created role of head of consumer. Philipson brings ten years of experience to the agency, having previously worked on eBay, Xbox, Expedia and Sony briefs.
The hire comes as Bite plans to expand further into the consumer space, having recently won accounts with broadcast channel 4Music, speaker firm Harman and social gaming platform Playfish.
Bite MD Kath Pooley said: 'The expansion of our consumer team has been driven by a number of factors. Our challenge was to find the right person to exploit the opportunity and build credibility with mainstream consumer brands.'
The business practice will be bolstered with the appointment of Fleishman-Hillard associate director Will Hill as head of b2b.
Hill joined Fleishman-Hillard back in 2000 and has led on campaigns and crisis management for companies including Cadbury, McCain Foods and the UK's National Air Traffic Control Services.
In addition, two account directors have been appointed. Ben Sewell joins the b2b team from 3Monkeys Communications where he worked on Microsoft's consumer portfolio.
Sophie Brown has been brought in from Grant Butler Coomber where she worked on accounts for tech brands Nokia, Panasonic and TrendMicro. She will work within the business practice on the Microsoft and HP accounts.
Pooley said that recruiting senior staff from outside the tech space would allow the agency to grow in other global regions.
