Diane VandenBurg, who departs her role of director of marketing at

Countrywide Porter Novelli at the end of July, is launching her new

consultancy in September.

VandenBurg 2, as it is known, will advise business clients on their

partnerships with the arts, from theatre and music, to photography and

painting and anything else in between.

A long-time lover of the arts, VandenBurg volunteered with sponsorship

organisation Arts and Business three years ago. It paired her with the

London Sinfonietta, the contemporary classical music ensemble, which

recruited her to its council as a marketing adviser.

At her first meeting, she laid eyes on principal viola player Paul

Silverthorne, who wasted no time in inviting her to one of his

recitals.

She says: ’The sight of him in tails, and in the company of the London

Symphony Orchestra and Andre Previn was too magical a combination to

resist.’ The couple were married a year later.

Obviously when it comes to advising clients on ’partnerships’ with the

arts, VandenBurg now has the key to more than just the business side.
