Three radio groups, GWR Group, The Wireless Group and Scottish
Radio Holdings, have joined forces to bid for five regional digital
radio licences. Their consortium is called the Digital Radio Group, and
is bidding for the North East, the Severn Estuary, the West Midlands,
the North West and the Yorkshire regions. GWR already holds a 67 per
cent interest in the national network, Digital One. Scottish Radio
Holdings operates the digital licence for Glasgow, and The Wireless
Group holds the second London licence.
