MEDIA BRIEFS: Radio groups join for licence battle

Three radio groups, GWR Group, The Wireless Group and Scottish Radio Holdings, have joined forces to bid for five regional digital radio licences. Their consortium is called the Digital Radio Group, and is bidding for the North East, the Severn Estuary, the West Midlands, the North West and the Yorkshire regions. GWR already holds a 67 per cent interest in the national network, Digital One. Scottish Radio Holdings operates the digital licence for Glasgow, and The Wireless Group holds the second London licence.
