PUBLIC SECTOR: Bristol University revamps marketing

Increased awareness of the power of good public relations has pushed the University of Bristol into a reorganisation of its marketing and PR set-up. The university has recently appointed Barry Taylor to the newly-created post of director of communications and marketing, starting in October. Taylor will be responsible for staff not only in the communications and marketing office, but also in the public programmes and public events offices, a total of around 20 people. Taylor brings 14 years experience at Bristol City Council, where he is currently head of corporate communications.
