Travelex, the world’s largest operator of airport currency exchange

services, has hired Smithfield Financial and sister agency Good

Relations on an integrated financial, consumer and business-to-business

PR brief.

The UK-based company, which makes over pounds 3 billion a year,

appointed the two Good Relations group consultancies on six-figure fees

as part of a profile-raising venture.

Reporting to Travelex founder and chairman Lloyd Dorfman, the

five-strong Smithfield and Good Relations team has been tasked with

targeting consumer, financial and business audiences in a bid to get the

company brand better known.

Smithfield chairman John Antcliffe and Good Relations director Will

Sanderson will jointly lead the account, which was won following a

competitive two-way pitch.

’Travelex is conscious that even though they have significant retail

presence, people don’t know as much about them as they should do,’ said

Antcliffe.

’We will be helping raise the company’s profile and communicating a

greater understanding of its activities to a diverse range of

audiences.’

Travelex, the trading name of privately-owned parent holding company

Travellers Exchange Corporation Limited, runs 300 branches across

Europe, North America and Australasia.
