WS poaches H&K staffer

Weber Shandwick has snared Hill & Knowlton's tech chief to head its new EMEA 'innovation unit'.

H&K head of technology and innovation Ben Padfield will join WS' European network in early December, in the new role of chief innovation officer, EMEA.

Padfield was formerly head of H&K's consumer business, and has worked at GCI London and Freud Communications. He will report to UK and EMEA CEO Colin Byrne as a member of WS' European senior management team.

Byrne said: 'He will create new businesses and innovations within Weber Shandwick and in partnership with our sister companies.'

Padfield will be replaced at H&K by Grant Currie, from Bite Communications (PRWeek.com, 26 October).
