The Porter Novelli Convergence Group (PNCG) has acquired
Chicago-based technology agency EBS Public Relations. The acquisition of
EBS, which generates roughly pounds 1.9 million a year in PR revenues,
boosts PN’s Chicago practice into the pounds 6 million range. The firm
will now have roughly 90 employees in the city. ’We have all this
pent-up demand in Chicago for hi-tech public relations,’ said Porter
Novelli CEO Bob Druckenmiller.
’But before now, we couldn’t really deliver.’ EBS founders Erica and
Brian Swerdlow will become senior vice-presidents at PNCG and will run
its Chicago operations.
