Public Sector: Millard will steer Royal Opera House PR

The Royal Opera House has appointed Chris Millard as its new head of press. Millard replaces Amanda Jones who moved to the Barbican Arts Centre as head of press at the end of December. Millard was previously a director of the arts PR agency Kirwin Millard for two years and prior to that was head of press and PR for the Glyndebourne Festival Opera. His appointment at the Opera House, which re-opened just before Christmas after a 30 month redevelopment, comes as the facility attempts to become accessible to a wider public. Millard has a team of six in the PR department and also works with outside agencies when they are brought by visiting companies.
