AGENCY REPORT 1999: Nexus Choat

Nexus Choat was one of the very few agencies that clients could find nothing to complain about when asked what they liked least about the agency. Level of contact was deemed very good and the agency was considered to be very responsive.

Nexus Choat was one of the very few agencies that clients could

find nothing to complain about when asked what they liked least about

the agency. Level of contact was deemed very good and the agency was

considered to be very responsive.

The agency also notched up strong marks for chemistry between agency and

client. Nuts and bolts scores were good across the board, with

particular praise for the agency’s ability to keep promises.

All those questioned felt the agency’s performance had improved since

the previous year, and all indicated they would reappoint the

agency.

It is only in the business performance category that Nexus Choat’s score

dropped. Pre-tax profit margins and fee income growth were average, but

fee income per head was well below average for an agency this size, and

marks were lost for not having a mission statement or customer

charter.

Staff retention is impressive, although less is spent on training than

average. In the quality category the agency did well for having a very

thorough in-house evaluation programme, including use of focus groups

and consumer surveys.

Infrastructure is also impressive, suggesting the agency is well

prepared for future challenges.
