Roland Klein has been appointed as Ericsson senior vice-president,

corporate communications, replacing Lars Stilberg who is retiring at the

end of next year.

Klein joins from DaimlerChrysler, where he is head of global corporate

communications, and will start working for Ericsson in March 2000.

Stilberg, who has been corporate communications head for five years,

will keep his title as senior vice-president of Ericsson, and work on

various projects until he retires on his 60th birthday in 2000.

Ericsson’s president, Kurt Hellstrom said of the appointment: ’As a

successor to Lars Stilberg, we were looking for someone with an

international background and with a deep knowledge of cross-border PR

and sound expertise in financial markets.’

Klein will be based in Ericsson’s London office, overseeing the

corporate communications management team. The company’s corporate

communications function covers internal and external communications,

investor relations and public affairs. Edelman PR Worldwide is
