BORDER LINES: GCI Group buys Russell-Welsh

SAN FRANCISCO: GCI Group has acquired biotech specialist Russell-Welsh and created a new biotech PR practice. Founded in 1991 by former Cetus director Katharine Russell, Russell-Welsh specialises in PR and investor relations for start-up life science companies. The practice will focus on IPO work and financial PR. GCI healthcare executive vice-president Bob Pearson said further acquisitions in the healthcare space are likely.
