Stephan Shakespeare, the former spokesman for disgraced Tory peer

Lord Archer, has launched an internet venture with Bell Pottinger Public

Affairs as a strategic partner.

YouGov.com is a web site promoting ’e-democracy’ in the UK, and is

co-founded by Nadhim Zahawi, formerly Archer’s director of field

operations.

Neither Shakespeare nor Zahawi is involved with Archer’s affairs any

longer, and Archer is not involved with the launch in any way.

Bell Pottinger Public Affairs has a small equity stake in the site and

YouGov.com is based at its offices. Paul Baverstock, MD of Bell

Pottinger Public Affairs, is a member of the site’s board.

Bell Pottinger is also working to raise awareness of the site. Other

partners include Freeserve, the UK’s largest ISP and Politico’s, the

political bookseller and publisher.
