PUBLIC SECTOR: Churchill takes on Crisis external relations

Homeless charity Crisis has promoted Neil Churchill to deputy chief executive with responsibility for external affairs as part of a senior management reshuffle at the organisation. In the newly-created role, Churchill will be responsible for government relations, fundraising and PR, and will be in charge of a total of 22 staff. Churchill was previously head of marketing and PR. The move will be accompanied by a wider reshuffle of the communications structure which will see the creation of a campaigns department, headed by Kate Tomlinson, formerly head of policy and government relations. She will oversee the creation of the department, which is likely to merge the media and corporate relations teams.
