Dance music bible Muzik has, for the second year running, announced

its list of the 50 most powerful people in dance music. Topped by

Ministry of Sound founder James Palumbo, the list includes DJs,

producers and radio programmers. It also includes two luminaries from

the world of PR: Damian Mould and Heather Finlay.

Mould, managing director of so-hip-it-hurts agency Slice PR, comes in at

number 19 in the list, which is based on a combination of money, talent,

sharp business sense and professional ability and aims, it says, to

’separate the men from the boys and the dog’s bollocks from the

bollocks’.

He also has the distinction of being third fastest mover in the chart

(he was positioned at 46 last year).

Coming in with a bullet at number 25 is Heather Finlay, managing

director of Sainted PR. She is the second highest-ranked woman in the

list and her clients are something of a who’s who of dance music

themselves: the Chemical Brothers, Massive Attack and the Basement Jaxx

to name but a few.

So, has this chart-busting status changed the quality of their

lives?

’Not at all, to be honest,’ is Finlay’s response, ’except for my friends

taking the piss.’
