The Ministry of Defence is in 'detailed dialogue' with the two remaining bidders - Capita Group and Prospector Group - for its recruiting partnering project.

Bidders are finalising their proposals before demonstrating them later this month. Under current planning, the MoD expects to award the contract around September 2011.

LGcomms is launching a think-tank called LGinsight, aimed at ensuring public sector researchers are helping local councils make the right decisions based on their research data. LGinsight will look to promote the use of public opinion research to prove how data can be used to deliver good decisions and positive outcomes.

Royal Mail has delayed finalising its new roster of PR agencies, which was originally due to be completed in August, until later this month. The pitch was first announced in April. Royal Mail currently uses Eulogy, Blue Rubicon, Shine, 3 Monkeys and Lansons for all activities. Royal Mail said its contract for PR services was 'due to expire later this year'.
