PUBLIC SECTOR: Camden revamps PR in bid to retain staff

The London Borough of Camden’s communications head Deirdre Colledge is revamping the communications function in a bid to improve staff retention in the department. The move will see the appointment of a deputy to current press and PR head Moira Whittle, adding a layer of management above the press office team of five for which the post will be responsible. Colledge said: ’What we are trying to do is have a career path in the press office. People who come here are very poachable once they have Camden on their CV, we hope to retain them.’
