PUBLIC SECTOR: Accountancy body expands PR into regions

Institute of Chartered Accountants media head Gay Hinton is to push through an expansion of the trade body’s activities in England and Wales with the creation of four press relations posts. Hinton aims to bring on board journalists to act as regional specialists with a view to increasing press coverage in London, the East, the North East, and South Wales and the West of England. The move comes after a successful trial in three regions over the past year which saw a marked increase in press coverage. The team’s brief is to raise positive awareness of the work of accountants and combat the negative image of the profession.
