The UK’s largest fax and sewing machines supplier, Brother UK, has

ended its 14-year relationship with QBO and appointed Staniforth to its

consumer, trade and sponsorship support brief.

The pounds 85 million turnover office equipment manufacturer cited a

desire for a more local offering as one reason for switching the

six-figure account.

The agency will operate from its offices in London and Manchester.

Ian Haworth, Staniforth’s London managing director, said both offices

would work towards gaining its new client ’the profile it deserves’.

Staniforth’s first task will be to raise awareness of the Brother UK

brand in the office and home markets. As well as faxes and sewing

machines the portfolio includes office products such as word processors

and printers in addition to labelling devices.

A special campaign is also being devised to make Brother’s sewing

machines appeal to a wider audience.

Smith stressed the parting with QBO was amicable but said that

Staniforth offered ’a more senior level of involvement’ as well as the

local office.

’It gives us the best of both worlds,’ a spokeswoman said.

The manufacturer’s five product areas meant it was almost like handling

five different accounts, she added.
