Arthur Andersen finance arm sets GCI Focus UK task

Professional services giant Arthur Andersen has appointed GCI Focus to handle UK media relations for its global financial services industry group.

Professional services giant Arthur Andersen has appointed GCI Focus

to handle UK media relations for its global financial services industry

group.

The appointment was made after a pitch also involving Grandfield. The

incumbent for the past three years was Ludgate Communications.

The account will be managed by a team headed by GCI Focus chief

executive Rupert Ashe and account director Margaret Jervoise. Jervoise

is ex-Ludgate and has worked on the account for the past three and a

half years.

According to Anne Groves, who heads Andersen’s in-house PR team,

Jervoise was the reason the campaign was put up for pitch. ’I decided to

review our agency after Jervoise left and review what we wanted out of

PR. The brief is different and will take in some work outside the UK on

particular projects.’

Within the financial services industry division, GCI will work on

services such as insurance, pension funds and offshore banking.

’Andersen is a strong brand, so it is only right that it is at the front

of thinking about issues such as e-business and consolidation which are

facing the world of finance,’ said Ashe.

GCI will report to both Groves and Russell Collins who heads the UK

financial services industry division.
