UK sportswear firm Umbro has appointed consumer agency Joe Public
Relations on six-figure fees to handle its UK consumer and trade PR. The
account was won after a three-way pitch (PR Week, 10 December 1999)
involving incumbent Capitalize, JPR and Shilland and Co. The focus will
be on Umbro’s sponsorship of players such as Alan Shearer, its
involvement in Euro 2000 and product support.
