Jaguar Land Rover's Simon Warr has departed to make way for new global comms chief

Jaguar Land Rover's director of communications and public affairs has made a shock departure from the vehicle manufacturer.

Departure: Simon Warr
Departure: Simon Warr

Simon Warr has left the company after working there since February 2007. The news has emerged just four days after Jaguar Land Rover announced the appointment of Frank Klaas as global head of comms.

Jaguar Land Rover explained that despite the change in job title, Klaas is a direct replacement for Warr.

Klaas joined from General Motors Europe, where he was most recently general director, Opel Communications.

Klaas assumes global responsibility for communications and public affairs activities. He reports directly to Jaguar Land Rover's chief executive officer Dr Ralf Speth.

Warr is understood to be intending to handle some consultancy work. Since joining the company, he has overseen the comms handling of Jaguar Land Rover’s takeover by Indian conglomerate Tata.

Warr has previously worked for Ford Motor Company as director of comms and worked as a press officer at the Home Office.
