Bang & Olufsen, which specialises in audio products, TV sets and telephones, has handed a retained consumer brief to Marlin PR after a three-way pitch.

The agency is the first retained consumer support for the brand in recent years.

Marlin will kick off with a new product launch in October.

The London-based agency will then continue to work for Bang & Olufsen for a further 12 months.

The pitch process was handled by Bang & Olufsen brand comms and PR executive Alison Bell.

Bell said the company's priority during the pitch process was to find an agency that could support its 'new direction', which is partly tied in with the new product launch.

However, she declined to reveal details of the product launch.

Marlin PR managing director Jenny Tod will lead the brief.

The Denmark-based Bang & Olufsen formerly handled consumer PR in-house.
