Raleigh International has an offer that is right up your jungle

path.

The charity is once again seeking young PROs to join its three-month

expeditions to far-flung destinations. Handling media relations in the

field is a vital part of each trip. Belize, Brunei, and Mongolia are on

the agenda this year.

The other criteria is that you must be over 25 with two years’

experience, plus the ability to stump up pounds 850 and your flight.

Hannah Crabtree, formerly press and PR manager at the Princess Royal

Trust for Carers recently did a three-month stint in Namibia. While there

was a certain amount of readjustment from ’nights in Soho to nights

under an African sky’, she raves about the opportunities to develop

skills and have hands on experience with events such as organising a

presidential visit. Plus the Namibian media are ’a lot more laid back’

than the British, apparently.
