Specialist financial agency Cubitt Consulting has hired former
Brunswick senior associate partner Andy Berry as a new director. Berry
left Brunswick in September after only seven months to seek a more
Berry began work last week for Cubitt on three unnamed initial public
offerings (IPOs) in the hi-tech sector. Other accounts will include
commercial bank UniCredito Italiano, retailer Somerfield and cigarette
manufacturer Gallaher. Last year he worked on transactions involving
Telecom Italia and publisher Reed Elsevier while at Brunswick.
According to Berry, ’there is a much more entrepreneurial approach at
Cubitt. It is growing rapidly which is what attracts me’.
Before joining Brunswick, Berry was a director in the UK equity capital
markets division of international bank CSFB. He spent 16 years
Berry joins Cubitt’s three founding partners and fellow director Martin
Forrest, who joined from Banner PR in December to head Cubitt’s new
media and hi-tech arm (PRWeek, 26 November 1999).
Managing partner Simon Brocklebank-Fowler said that Berry brings ’an
inside-out knowledge of capital markets and how financial decisions are
made; transaction expertise in M&As and IPOs; and media relations
expertise from Brunswick’.
Launched a year ago, Cubitt Consulting now has 15 staff and aims to have
25 by the end of this year. Brocklebank-Fowler said he intends Cubitt to
become one of the top three pan-European financial communications
companies, although he would not reveal fee income.
