Restructure for Whitbread makes Probert PR head

Whitbread, the UK’s third-largest brewer, whose products include Heineken and Boddingtons, is to reorganise its communications structure.

Whitbread, the UK’s third-largest brewer, whose products include

Heineken and Boddingtons, is to reorganise its communications

structure.

The move is part of a larger internal restructure to take effect from

next month. Whitbread’s restaurant brands, which include TGI Fridays and

Pizza Hut, will come under the newly-formed restaurants division.

Whitbread Inns and Whitbread Pub Partnerships will come under pubs and

bars.

Lesly Hughes moves from group PR manager to become communications

manager for restaurants. Angela Wajner, former communications manager

for Whitbread Inns, takes over a similar role in the pubs and bars

division. They will report to the marketing directors of the new

divisions.

Whitbread’s brewing, hotels and leisure interests will remain

separate.

Jeremy Probert, who has taken over as group PR manager from Hughes, said

clarity of communications and cost savings are the main reasons for the

reorganisation. He reports to director of corporate affairs, David

Reed.

Probert’s former role of media relations manager has been changed to PR

manager and is currently vacant. Whitbread’s corporate in-house team

also comprises an IR manager, an internal communications manager and a

consultant.
