EasyJet's longstanding comms manager Samantha Day to join Autoglass

EasyJet comms manager Samantha Day is leaving the low-fares airline to join vehicle repair firm Autoglass as PR manager.

Day joined easyJet just after the company’s launch in December 1995. She progressed from PR assistant through a number of comms roles including managing the central press office, consumer PR in the UK and a team of three.

During her time at easyJet, Day was responsible for launching the brand and co-ordinating comms across 12 countries in Central and Eastern Europe. She also managed the company’s crisis response and the filming of 10 series of the ITV ‘Airline’ programme.

Day said: ‘I have had an incredible journey at easyJet and am proud to have been part of the low-cost airline revolution and building one of Europe’s strongest consumer brands. But after more than 14 years it’s time for a new challenge.

‘Autoglass has become one of the most recognisable brands in the UK in recent years, thanks to its strong marketing strategy, with PR playing only a small part. I now have the opportunity to develop the PR function and raise the company profile further to establish Autoglass as a consumer champion and industry expert.’
