Gaga’s press support was previously handled in-house at Universal-owned label Polydor.

Gaga’s longstanding PR aide Adrian Read is also joining Darling as head of press. He has worked with Gaga since her launch in the UK in mid-2008.

Read was a double winner at the 2009 Record of the Day Awards, winning Best In-House PR Preson and Best PR Campaign for a Break-through Non-UK Act for his work with Lady Gaga.

Read’s experience includes working on print and online publicity campaigns for the likes of Gaga, Ian Brown, Weezer and Morrissey. He has also handled online PR for acts including La Roux, White Lies and Duffy.

Indie band The Bees is also moving to Darling.

‘As Darling continues to diversify into artist management and music consultancy, it is more important than ever that we have someone of Adrian's ability heading up our core PR business,’ said Darling director Dan Stevens. ‘His achievements over the last few years speak for themselves, as does the fact that artists such as Lady Gaga and The Bees are making the move with him.’
