Adrian Thomas appointed head of PR and public affairs at British Red Cross

British Red Cross has appointed Adrian Thomas as its head of public relations and public affairs.

Thomas joins the charity from the Met Office where he held the position of senior manager for media relations and public affairs for more than two years.

He succeeds Leigh Daynes, who moved to Plan UK as director of comms last year after being at the British Red Cross for six years.

Phil Talbot, director of comms, British Red Cross said: 'Thomas' expertise in PR and public affairs within the sector is invaluable and will help us to build on the successes already achieved.'

Thomas was previously head of media relations for Help the Aged and MIND.
