Meditech Media (MTM), the third-largest healthcare communications

company in the UK, has recruited David Milton to the newly-created role

of chief operating officer in the UK division.

Milton joins MTM from Novartis Pharmaceuticals where he was director of

the central nervous system business division.

Following the appointment, Stephen Cameron, who owns MTM, moves from the

position of managing director to chairman and CEO of the MTM group,

which has offices in the US, Hong Kong, Germany, Australia and Italy, as

well as two offices in the UK.

The reason for the move is the group’s rapid international

expansion.

Milton said: ’My role is to help the company through the growing pains

of being small and UK-based, to being international.’

There are plans to open further offices in the US, India and China soon

and Milton added that there were also plans for an IPO in the ’not too

distant’ future.

Milton worked at Novartis for three years. Prior to this, he worked at

Glaxo Wellcome, where he held the position of director of commercial

strategy, based in the US.

MTM’s UK division grew by 31 per cent in fee income last year, following

wins such as the global PR account for Avandia.
