PUBLIC SECTOR: Cotswold council upgrades PR position

Cotswold District Council has upgraded its PR role and is on the hunt for its first full-time press and information officer, after the departure of Jane Valentine to the communications department of the Meningitis Trust in August. The move comes as a result of a review of communications strategy by chief executive Clive Abbott and policy co-ordination officer Mark Harris. The post, which is currently being covered by former policy assistant Kim Harvey, will report to Harris and take charge of PR strategy at the council, develop image and branding and be responsible for the council’s newsletter.
