BAD HOMBURG: Fujitsu Siemens Computers - a joint venture between

two of the world’s largest technology companies - has hired Barbara

Eckrich to handle business communications.

Eckrich was head of business communications at energy firm RWE Energie

AG in Essen until last week. Before that she was head of the press

department at the Federal Finance Ministry from 1994 to 1998. In her new

role, she will be responsible for internal and external communications

and will be spokeswoman for the joint venture.

Jens Loewenhardt, who has been at Fujitsu since September 1998 and who

was responsible for press and PR for the joint venture since its launch

last year, is to remain at the company in an advisory role.

Eckrich’s tasks have been taken over by press spokesman Hermann

Venghaus.

However, this is for a limited period as RWE Energie will disappear once

the RWE group has been restructured after a merger with VEW.

The PR account for Fujitsu Siemens in Austria has been given to Vienna’s

Results and Relations.
