Sports sponsorship agency Craigie Taylor International has

appointed Glen Kirton as its first international PR director.

Kirton will be responsible for developing the agency’s global sports PR

business. He will work alongside Craigie Taylor chairman Marcus

Robertson and managing director Kate Waterfall.

Robertson said: ’Kirton will have a role in co-ordinating and handling

our international activities and events. We wanted someone of his

stature to help us develop this area of our business.’

Kirton returns to the UK after almost four years as managing director of

Swiss sports marketing firm ISL. Prior to that he spent 25 years at the

Football Association, first in charge of the FA’s PR office and later as

head of external relations. He also worked as tournament director for

Euro 96, before moving to ISL to handle its FIFA World Cup and UEFA Euro

2000 accounts.

’It’s a new development for the company and I hope to strengthen its

status on an international level by using my sports marketing experience

and contacts from the world of football,’ said Kirton.

Craigie Taylor International was ranked 49th in PR Week’s Top 150 league

table of the UK’s consultancies. It handles Vodafone’s sponsorship of

the England cricket team and of Manchester United Football Club. Other
