Connex hires Drummond to lead communications

Connex, the commuter rail company, has appointed Rosemary Drummond as its communications director.

Connex, the commuter rail company, has appointed Rosemary Drummond

as its communications director.



She replaces Peter Kendall, who held the post for two years and has

resigned without disclosing his future plans.



Drummond joins Connex from Biss Lancaster where she spent five years as

a consultant director with clients including HSBC Rail, the Law Society

and Inmarsat.



The role covers communications responsibility for the company’s two rail

franchises, Connex South Eastern and Connex South Central and two bus

routes in South London.



Drummond will head a centralised press office of six across internal and

external communications and also has responsibility for a youth team of

four who visit schools.



Drummond reports to Connex MD Geoff Harrison-Mee and to its chief

executive and chairman Antoine Hurel.



Connex retains Citigate Westminister on a public affairs brief.



Both Connex and Biss Lancaster are owned by French conglomerate

Compagnie Generale des Eaux.
