Flack: Cycles & Football

1. Media House consultant Lucy Sparkes must be saddle-sore after completing an epic 500 mile cycle challenge from London to Glasgow in five days to raise money for Action for Children. Hope someone packed talcum powder.

2. Assorted celebs designed their own cycles for a bike auction, hosted last week at the London Transport Museum. The event was promoted by Forster for National Bike Week. Flack wonders what uber-competitive Lord Sugar would think about his bike raising £1,000, when Victoria Pendleton's went for £1,600?

3. All eyes may be on England's woeful/heroic (delete as appropriate depending on Wednesday's result) efforts in South Africa, but London firm Political Lobbying and Media Relations (PLMR) took on a footie challenge closer to home. PLMR took part in a six-a-side tournament earlier this month at West Ham's Upton Park with players such as England's Peter Bonetti, helping to raise £80,000 for the One to One Children's Fund.
