Open Road has recruited Emma Haselhurst as a consultant to expand its healthcare practice. She joins from Weber Shandwick's public affairs division, where she was an account manager, specialising in the healthcare and education sectors.

College Hill has bolstered its Life Sciences team with the appointment of senior account director Nicole Yost. She was previously a journalist working for Scrip World Pharmaceutical News and BioPartnering Magazine. Yost's addition follows recent expansion of the team's financial offering, as well as growth in the company's San Francisco and London offices.

The General Pharmaceutical Council has hired Hugh Simpson as director of policy and comms for the new regulator. He joins in early September from his role as deputy director of comms at the NHS Confederation.

Enlighten Smiles, the professional teeth whitening firm, has chosen health and fitness specialist Entice Communications to handle its PR on a retained basis. The agency will aim to promote the brand alongside its products and services.
