Emap Elan has named Sally Brampton, the launch editor of British Elle in 1985, as the new editor of Red, the women’s magazine launched in January 1998. She replaces Kathryn Brown, who has left to have a baby.

Elle in 1985, as the new editor of Red, the women’s magazine launched in

January 1998. She replaces Kathryn Brown, who has left to have a

baby.



Brampton left journalism ten years ago to have a family, and is about to

publish her fourth novel.



Red was established to target the 29- to 45-year-old women’s market and

has a circulation of 170,000.
