LONDON: Siemens’ telecommunications network provider, Unisphere

Solutions, has handed its pounds 500,000 European and Asian PR account

to Text 100, the UK’s largest specialist technology agency.

The account will be led by account director Nick Mason Pearson,

supported by a team of four.

Unisphere launched in the US in March. Making its UK debut in August,

the company hired Text 100 from August to October to raise its market

profile during the launch period. The success of the three-month stint

led Bob Olsen, senior PR manager for Unisphere, to sign the year-long

contract.

The fees are for work in France, Germany, Singapore, Japan, Australia

and Hong Kong, as well as the UK. Success will be gauged by how close

the company comes to replacing Nortel as the third largest voice and

data network provider in the world behind Lucent and Cisco.

Text 100 posted fee income of pounds 7.5 million in 1998.
