Financial information provider Dow Jones has hired a start-up
agency for strategic communications advice after ending its relationship
with Luther Pendragon.
Catherine May, a partner at Luther Pendragon, said that the relationship
with Dow Jones was brought to an end through mutual agreement because of
a conflict of interest within the agency.
She said: ’After a discussion with all those involved it was decided we
would go our separate ways.’
Following a strategic review of its PR, Dow Jones has appointed newly
created PR firm Blue Rubicon, founded by an ex-head of communications
for Powergen, Fraser Hardie.
Blue Rubicon will have responsibility for three briefs: The Wall Street
Journal, Wall Street Journal Interactive and Dow Jones Newswires. It
will provide strategic advice on media relations and communications
Dow Jones uses Herald Communications in continental Europe. The news
business has an in-house team of three including PR manager Helen
Hawkins and corporate communications director Brigit Trafford.
Edelman PR Worldwide was appointed last month to work as the global PR
agency for Dow Jones Reuters Business Interactive - an internet-based
offering of global news and business information.
