PUBLIC SECTOR: Jones quits Opera House for the Barbican

The Royal Opera House is to lose its communications head Amanda Jones to the London’s Barbican Centre arts complex after 13 years. Jones will join the Barbican Centre as its new head of press and PR, replacing Valerie Gillard, who is taking early retirement (PR Week, 11 June). Jones will oversee the five-strong press team at the centre, but public affairs director Ruth Hasnip has redefined the role to give it more of a strategic focus.
