PUBLIC SECTOR: Greenpeace seeks London press officer

Greenpeace PR chief Blake Lee-Harwood is to bring his press office team up to full strength with the appointment of a permanent press officer for its London headquarters. Lee-harwood, who reports to Greenpeace CEO Peter Melchett, was appointed in June and has been reshaping the organisation’s PR since his arrival. The position is an influential one within the organisation, involving work on Greenpeace’s two key campaigns on genetic engineering and climate change which have gained high-profile media coverage over past months. The role’s wide-ranging brief will involve everything from involvement in the famous rubber-dinghy direct action to lobbying at Westminster.

The post will report to Lee-Harwood and work alongside the existing

press team. The position has been filled by temporary PROs over the past

year.
